Nextar Chempharma Solutions: Entering new markets!

Project: In this project, KMM has been identifying and approaching potential partners and customers in the Netherlands for Nextar Chempharma Solutions in the Netherlands. KMM has been selecting and approaching a large group of companies and organized a road-show for Nextar. Furthermore, KMM has been assisting Nextar in coordinating the follow up activities, resulting in several orders from end-customer and several promising partnerships.

About Nextar: Nextar provides local biotech, pharma and medical device firms with a full range of custom chemical synthesis, pharmaceutical R&D, formulation development, clinical GMP manufacturing and GLP analytical services.

Pre-seed funding for Closed Loop Therapies

Project: KMM has been assisting the management of Closed Loop Therapies Ltd. in the creation of a strategic cooperation with Prof. Jordaens, head of Electrophysiology at the Thorax Centre of Erasmus MC. Furthermore, KMM helped to establish a Dutch company in order to acquire pre-seed funding for CLT.

About CLT: CLT aims to develop and commercialise a novel therapeutic system, consisting of an arrhythmia-detecting drug pump combined with a unique drug, for automatic and immediate treatment of emerging atrial fibrillation (AF). Market size is estimated at 2.5-3 billion Euro, annually.

February 2010: Road-show in Germany for Nextar Chempharma Solutions

Following a successful business development project in the Netherlands, resulting in several orders for Nextar, KMM is currently assisting Nextar in the German market. The first week of February KMM will be organizing a road-show for Nextar in Bavaria.

December 2009: First Customer for Nextar Chempharma Solution in the Netherlands

Following intensive business development activities by KMM, Nextar Chempharma Solutions (“Nextar”) has received its first orders from customers in The Netherlands. KMM has been assisting Nextar in identifying key-partners as well as customers in the Dutch life sciences industry and organized a road-show in October of this year, generating serious interest from several Dutch companies.

Nextar (formerly: Aminolab Pharma) provides local biotech, pharma and medical device firms with a full range of custom chemical synthesis, pharmaceutical R&D, formulation development, clinical GMP manufacturing and GLP analytical services.

November 2009: CleanTech Event

In 2009, the Technion Society of the Netherlands devoted special attention to green technologies, and, therefore, organized a CleanTech event that took place in Rotterdam on 5 November 2009. The event was hosted by Erasmus Universiry Rotterdam.

During this event, trends and innovations in Cleantech were presented; with participants from industry, academics and government, it provided an excellent networking opportunity for everyone interested in Cleantech or high-tech in general. The Minister of Science and Technology of Israel – Prof. Daniel Hershkovitz participated in this event. The Ambassador of Israel – Harry Kney-Tal also attended the event. They both gave inspirational speeches on cooperation across borders and cooperation between the Netherlands and Israel in particular. Having spoken about cooperation between two great countries, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed between the Erasmus School of Economics, the Rotterdam School of Management and the Technion.

Those of you, who participated, would agree that it was a success!

June 2009: Establishing Closed Loop Therapies in Erasmus MC Incubator (Press Release)

KMM has been intensively involved in the establishment of Closed Loop Therapies B.V. (“CLT”) in the Incubator in the Erasmus Medical Center of Rotterdam. KMM helped to set up a strategic cooperation with Prof. Luc Jordaens head of Electrophysiology at the Thorax Centre and to get the company entitled to pre-seed funding of the incubator.

Immunarray (Rad Biomed Incubator)

Project: KMM has assisted the life science start-up company Immunarray in teaming up with strategic partners in the Netherlands. As a result, Immunarray is now cooperating with internationally renowned researchers from the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.

Furthermore, we have helped Immunarray in finding and approaching potential investors to finance its R&D activities.

About Immunarray: Located in Israel, Immunarray is a promising and innovative life science company developing micro-arrays and diagnostic applications based on the human immune system. Immunarray currently operates from the Rad Biomed Incubator in Tel Aviv, Israel.

SKF – Technology Search

Project:
For several years, KMM has been assisting the corporate R&D division of SKF in scouting for innovative technologies and identifying potential technology and R&D partners in areas such as tribology, lubrication, materials and manufacturing technologies. This activity resulted in various (international) cooperations and a 3 year joint R&D project with a leading Russian research institute subsidized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands.

Organizing trade missions

Project: (e.g. Northern Ireland, Estonia) In recent years, KMM has been assisting various international Chambers of Commerce and export institutes by organizing trade missions and matchmaking events in the Netherlands. Under these projects, we have assisted many companies from Northern Ireland and Estonia to identify, approach and meet with local clients and partners in the Netherlands. Several of these companies were first-time exporters and gained their first international clients as a result of our activities.
